Let me introduce
My journey to art therapy began when I studied Fine Art at the Limerick School of Art and Design. After graduating I spent time working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities both in schools and in the community before training as an Art Psychotherapist at Goldsmiths University of London.
Since completing my masters in 2014 I have worked with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), Youth Counselling Services, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Services and have worked in both Primary and Secondary Schools as a Therapist.
Now based in Galway, I have a private practice in the city centre and also offer Mindful Art Workshops at requested venues.
I have considerable experience of working with children, adolescents and parents/guardians. I am passionate about creating safe and containing spaces in order to enable clients to explore their individual needs and reach their unique potential.
I am a life long learner and as a therapist I focus on continuously updating my skills. Since qualifying I have completed further training in Therapeutic Play Skills, Trauma informed approaches, Mindfulness Based approaches and I am in the process of completing a Diploma to become a Mindfulness Teacher.
I am accredited with IACAT (Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists) and IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)
